Doosan extends its winning streak to five games with a sweep of a three-game series in Pohang.
Doosan won 5-1 against Samsung on Saturday at Pohang Stadium. It was their fifth straight win since the first game against Lotte in Ulsan. Starter Brandon Waddell earned his first win since returning from the disabled list. Samsung, on the other hand, fell into a three-game losing streak.
Let’s take a look at the starting lineups for both teams. Doosan struck first in the third inning. Jung Soo-bin led off with a single to right field. Heo popped out to shortstop, but Rojas singled to right to put runners on first and third. Yang Seok-hwan was at bat. On a 2B-1S pitch count, Yang took a four-pitch fastball and lined it to left field. Jung Soo-bin advanced to third.
Kim Jae-hwan struck out on three pitches to end the threat. Kang Seung-ho hit a single up the middle to score Rojas from second. With runners on first and second, Hong Sung-ho singled to make it 3-0.
Samsung had a chance to fight back in the sixth inning. Ryu Ji-hyuk led off with a walk and Kim Hyun-jun followed with a single to right to put runners on first and third. Kang Min-ho struck out, but Pirela’s infield single scored a run.
Doosan took a two-run lead in the seventh when Kang Seung-ho hit an RBI double over the left field fence. In the ninth, leadoff hitter Heo Kyung-min drove in a run with a solo shot to left.

Left-hander Choi Chae-heung took the loss for Samsung, allowing three runs on seven hits with one walk and two strikeouts in three innings. He was followed by Kim Tae-hoon, Woo Kyu-min, Noh Gun-woo, Choi Ji-kwang, and Oh Seung-hwan.
