Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) new signing Lee Kang-In (22) could be given the ‘green light’ to compete for a starting spot. Henato Sanchez (25) is being courted by AS Roma. While there is no overlap in playing style or tactical utilization, it’s worth noting that the two players share the same midfield position.
Earlier in the day, Lee left Mallorca to join PSG on July 9. He signed a five-year contract until 2028, and according to local reports, he will receive a salary of €4 million (approx. KRW 5.7 billion) per year, plus a bonus of €4.4 million (approx. KRW 6.2 billion). As he embarks on his new challenge, he will immediately begin playing in the UEFA Champions League (UCL), a “war of the stars,” starting in the new season.
“I am delighted to join PSG, the world’s best club with the world’s best players, and I can’t wait to start my new adventure and bring joy to the fans,” said Lee, who added: “I have a lot of desire and thirst to win. I want to help the team win as much as possible, and I want to win every match and win the title as much as possible.” He also shared his future plans.
Lee has settled in well since joining the team. In videos posted on the club’s official channel, he seems to have made an instant connection with his teammates, especially Carlos Soler (26), with whom he was previously linked at Valencia. He even played his first preseason game on July 22. However, he had to be substituted at the end of the first half due to a hamstring problem. He is currently in Japan preparing for the preseason.
Local reports suggest that Luis Enrique, 53, is likely to use a 4-3-3 formation, with Lee expected to play in either the left center midfield or attacking midfield positions. However, PSG have plenty of players who can play in that position. In addition to Sanchez, there are Soler and Vitinha (23), Fabian Luis (27), Giorginio Wijnaldum (32), and Warren Zaire Emery (17).
In the meantime, there was some good news for Lee. “Sanchez is currently being watched by AS Roma,” Fabrizio Romano, a journalist specializing in the European soccer transfer market, said on social media, adding that “Paris Saint-Germain have not made a decision, but discussions will be held again regarding the transfer”. 안전놀이터
While the transfer process hasn’t started yet, it’s certainly a good sign for Lee that Sanchez could be on his way to AS Roma. With one less competitor, he can continue to improve and become more competitive as he gets more playing time next season. In addition, some midfielders have also been linked with moves, including Binaldum and Marco Verratti (30).
Meanwhile, Lee will face Alnasr, Cerezo Osaka, and Inter Milan in Japan before traveling to Busan to face Jeonbuk Hyundai on March 3. He will then travel to France for the start of the French Ligue 1 on the 13th of next month.
