Jeonbuk Hyundai has strengthened its midfield with the signing of Nana Boateng.

Boateng comes from CFR 1907 Cluj, where he was coached by Dan Petrescu. The former Manchester City U18 in the English Premier League (EPL) is known for his physicality and offensive ability.

After an initial loan spell with Norwegian side Stromsgodse IF ahead of the 2012 season due to problems obtaining an English visa, Boateng extended his contract with Manchester City and joined Stromsgodse IF on loan.

In five seasons at Stromsgodse IF, Boateng scored 18 goals in 101 appearances, most notably in 2013, when he scored seven goals in 17 appearances to help the club win the league title.

After two seasons with the Colorado Rapids of the American MLS starting in 2017, Boateng returned to Europe for the 2020 season, signing with KuPS (Kuopioon Palosseura) in Finland.

His standout performances for KuPS earned him the Finnish Midfielder of the Year and the league’s Best 11 in his first year with the club, which won the Finnish Cup the following year. 메이저사이트

Ahead of the 21/22 season, Boateng moved to CFR 1907 Cluj in Romania, where he formed a relationship with head coach Jeon Jeon Petrescu and played a key role in leading the team to the league title.

With his second signing of the season, Petrescu sought to further define his tactics by selecting a former protégé who had won the title with him.

“It is an honor to join Jeonbuk, one of the best clubs in Asia,” said Boateng, “I am happy to be reunited with the coach once again and look forward to lifting the trophy together.”

With the addition of Boateng, Jeonbuk fills all five of its foreign quota spots, with Boateng being assigned the number 57.
