“Kim, Horner, and Stott are fantastic values.”

Ha-Sung Kim (San Diego Padres) has suddenly become a fantasy staple. ESPN reviewed this season’s Major League Fantasy Baseball on Aug. 8 and named Kim, Nico Horner (Chicago Cubs), and Bryson Stott (Philadelphia Phillies) as its infield MVPs.

Ha Sung Kim has slowed down a bit since mid-August, but he has been one of the best offensive center fielders in the majors this season. He often plays third base when Manny Machado is the designated hitter, showing off his ability to play multiple positions.

Kim, Horner, and Stott, who was named ESPN’s Infield MVP, have something in common. Their teams have pushed them to second base by adding shortstops in free agency. San Diego signed Xander Bogaerts to an 11-year, $280 million deal, sending Kim to second base as the starting shortstop for the 2022 season.

However, as ESPN notes, “A funny thing happened in fantasy baseball. Horner and Kim were far more valuable in fantasy than the players who moved positions. Horner, Kim and Stott are among the most valuable players in fantasy.”

It’s true that Bogaerts hasn’t quite lived up to expectations this year. Kim, on the other hand, is having a career year on offense in his third year in the majors. “Horner and Kim surpassed the 30-steal mark with more than a month to go and lead their respective lineups with high batting averages and runs scored,” according to ESPN.

In 136 games this season, Kim is batting .271 with 128 hits in 472 at-bats, 17 home runs, 55 RBIs, 77 runs scored, 31 doubles, a .361 on-base percentage, a .422 slugging percentage and a .783 OPS. That’s an OPS of 0.8, and he’s on pace for 2.7. Among National League second basemen, he ranks sixth in batting average, second in slugging percentage, and fourth in runs scored. His 5.8 WAR ranks seventh in the majors according to Baseball-Reference. Seeking to become the first Asian major leaguer to hit 20 home runs and 30 doubles.  온라인바카라

According to ESPN, “Kim, Horner and Stott aren’t as valuable as Freddie Freeman (Los Angeles Dodgers) and Bobby Witt Jr. (Kansas City Royals), but they have fantastic value. Look for the top 20 players to serve as top options.”
