Fabinho is moving to Saudi Arabia.
European football transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano announced on social media on Monday (June 29), “Fabinho has completed his medical at Al Ittihad. Liverpool and Al Ittihad are waiting to sign the documents. The medical has been approved. The contract is for three years,” he wrote, announcing Fabinho’s move with his signature “Here We Go” message.
Fabinho is a quality midfielder from Brazil. At 6-foot-2, he has solid physicality and a tough style that doesn’t shy away from competition. He has a high work rate, tireless stamina, a good understanding of tactics, the ability to coordinate the team and a good defense.
After growing up in his home league, he broke into the European scene in 2012. His destination was Rio Ave in Portugal. In the 2012-13 season, he went on loan to Real Madrid Castilla, where he showed promise and even played in the Real first team. In 2013-14, he went on loan to Monaco in the French league, where he made 26 league appearances and provided three assists.
This led to a full transfer. By the 2014-15 season, he had established himself as a regular, logging over 3,000 minutes in the league. In 2016-17, he made history. Along with Kylian Mbappe, Bernardo Silva, and Falcao, he led Monaco to the UEFA Champions League (UCL) quarterfinals.
That performance earned him a spot at the big club. Jürgen Klopp recognized Fabinho’s abilities and made the move to Liverpool in a €45 million deal for the 2018-19 season.
He was a regular starter in his first year at the club. Forming a solid midfield duo with Jordan Henderson, he was part of Liverpool’s golden era. He helped them win the UCL in 2018-19 and the English Premier League (EPL) in 2019-20. He continued to be a key part of Liverpool’s midfield. 안전놀이터
However, in the 2022-23 season, he suffered a sharp decline in form. As Liverpool struggled as a whole, Fabinho’s influence diminished and he was criticized. At the end of the season, he was linked with a move away. The Saudis, who have been attracting European players lately, approached Fabinho and negotiations quickly progressed. Liverpool also agreed to sell Fabinho. The deal was finalized and Liverpool sent Fabinho to Saudi Arabia, along with Henderson.
