Ulsan Hyundai has saved itself. They took the lead.

Ulsan Hyundai won the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 away match against Gwangju FC 1-0 at Gwangju Football Stadium on February 2. Ulsan (16 W, 2 D, 2 L) extended its winning streak to four games and remained in first place. Ulsan is now unbeaten in 16 matches (16W5D) against Gwangju for eight years, dating back to Aug. 29, 2015. It is tied for the most points in the history of the K League after 20 rounds. In 2018, Jeonbuk Hyundai also accumulated 50 points in 20 games.

Ulsan utilized a 4-2-3-1 formation. Lee In-gyu started up top. Kang Yoon-koo, Ataru, and Cho Hyun-taek provided support behind him. Kim Min-hyuk and Lee Kyu-sung partnered in the defensive midfield. In the back four were Lee Myung-jae, Kim Young-kwon, Kim Ki-hee, and Kim Tae-hwan. Cho Hyun-woo guarded the goal.

Prior to the game, Ulsan was in first place with 15 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses (47 points). Gwangju (8 wins, 4 draws, and 7 losses) was in seventh place.
