Seongnam FC, led by Jin Sung-wook and Gabriel, will look to break the Gyeongnam FC winless jinx.

Seongnam will face Gyeongnam in the 22nd round of the Hana OneQ K League 2 2023 at 7 p.m. on Nov. 19 at Tancheon Sports Complex. Seongnam is in 10th place with 25 points (6 wins, 7 draws, and 7 losses), while Gyeongnam is in first place with 36 points (10 wins, 6 draws, and 3 losses).

After a miserable winless streak, Seongnam got their first win in a long time with a 3-2 victory at Busan IPark. Jin Sung-wook was the star of the show. Jin Sung-wook, who joined on loan from Jeju United this summer, warmed up with two substitute appearances before starting the game.

He scored his second goal for Seongnam in first-half stoppage time after Kang Kang-bin had given the team the lead. It was a fantastic goal. While carrying the ball, Jin realized that Koo Sang-min was out and fired a shot from near the halfway line that went in. In terms of distance, it was about 45 meters. The goal definitely gave Seongnam the lead.

It wasn’t the end of the story. In the 24th minute of the second half, Jung Won-jin missed a touch and Jin Sung-wook took the ball all alone and rattled the net with a neat chip shot. The multi-goal scorer was substituted in the 32nd minute. Despite conceding two goals to Busan, Seongnam held on for the win, ending a six-match winless streak. Seongnam had gone scoreless in their previous three matches. The draw and the goal drought were all thanks to Jin Sung-wook.

In the midst of the win, Gabriel joined the team. Gabriel is a Brazilian attacker with both physicality and speed who can play up front or on the flanks. He will be a big boost for Seongnam, which has been lacking in offense with Lee Jong-ho out with a hamstring injury and Shim Dong-woon out for the season. He is also expected to play against Gyeongnam. 안전놀이터

Aiming for a draw against Gyeongnam Seongnam has drawn four and lost six of their last 10 matches against Gyeongnam. In their first meeting this season, they were unable to break the winless jinx against Gyeongnam as they conceded a goal to Gleison after leading 2-1 until just before the end. Since then, Gyeongnam has gone on a winning streak and remains in first place. They lost to the Jeonnam Dragons in their last game, but they are still the team with the best mood in League 2.

If they can catch leader Gyeongnam and break their winless jinx and go on a winning streak, Seongnam, whose mood has dropped a bit, will definitely have the momentum to move up.
