The reason why Manchester United gave up on Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) has been revealed. The scouts didn’t want to sign him.

“United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to sign Kane badly,” The Athletic reported on Tuesday, “but he was unable to do so because of opposition from the club’s scouts.”

After failing to land the Premier League’s top striker, United eventually settled on Rasmus Højlund. He’s 10 years younger than Kane, and they saw potential in him. Of course, it’s hard to expect the same kind of performance from him now.

Last month, Kane left Tottenham after more than a decade and donned a Bayern Munich jersey. The transfer fee is a whopping 100 million euros ($143.1 billion) and his annual salary is 25 million euros ($35.8 billion). The contract is for four years, until June 2027.

Wearing Bayern Munich’s No. 9 shirt instead of Tottenham’s No. 10, Kane has had no trouble adjusting to life in Germany.

Kane is undoubtedly a legend in Tottenham’s history. He grew up in Tottenham and has scored 273 goals in a Spurs shirt, making him the club’s all-time leading scorer.

According to The Athletic, “United believed they could challenge for the title if they signed Kane. Mourinho was of the same opinion. When options for a new striker were considered last summer, Kane was at the top of the list.”

In fact, United were considered the frontrunners to sign Kane. They’ve been linked with Kane since last winter. Bayern Munich were also in the mix, but Kane was strongly rumored to prefer to stay in the Premier League, making United the favorite.

Of course, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy strongly opposed the move. United were also troubled by Levy’s insistence. 먹튀검증

According to The Athletic, “United knew that Tottenham chairman Levy had only two options. “United knew Levy had only two options: sell Kane or re-sign him, and they believed he would eventually be sold.

However, United didn’t even send a proper offer for Kane.

“United have the right to veto the manager’s targets in the scouting section,” said The Athletic. The scouts objected to the signing of Kane.”

The scouting department, the manager, and the club’s hierarchy need to be on the same page when it comes to strengthening the squad.
