Tottenham Hotspur have apparently rejected a second offer from Bayern Munich.
Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Germany’s Sky Sports, wrote on social media on Monday (Sept. 9), “Munich have sent a second transfer offer to Tottenham for Harry Kane. The amount is 80 million euros ($114.6 million) with a bonus option.”
Plettenberg continued, “The first offer was for €70 million plus bonus options, which was rejected by Tottenham. Kane sincerely wants to join Munich,” he added.
However, the British newspaper The Times reported a day later that “Tottenham have rejected a second offer from Munich. Despite Tottenham’s attitude, Munich are still hopeful of signing Kane this summer. Kane’s current contract expires next summer. With no chance of renewal, this is Spurs’ only chance to get a transfer fee.”
Kane is one of Tottenham’s key strikers and signature stars. A product of the club’s youth academy, Kane has been a regular first-team striker since Mauricio Pochettino took over as manager. His sharp eye for goal has made him one of Spurs’ best players, responsible for most of the team’s goals each season.
This season has been no different. With 30 goals in all competitions in the English Premier League (EPL), he is second in league scoring behind only Elling Holland (Manchester City, 36). With other offensive options such as Son Heung-min, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Dejan Koulousevski struggling with injuries and underperformance throughout the season, Kane has stepped up to the plate.
But despite Kane’s presence, Tottenham were once again unable to capitalize. They were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) in the round of 16, and both their domestic cups – the English FA Cup and the English Football League Cup (EFL Cup) – were eliminated early. Add to that an eighth-place finish in the EPL, and you’ve got a recipe for missing out on European competition next season.
“It’s not enough to finish fourth in the league,” Kane said in March, shortly after being knocked out of the UCL by AC Milan. You have to go for the trophy. That should always be the goal. The fact that finishing in the top four has become a goal is a consequence of not playing the way we want to play,” he said.
There have been similar situations before. Kane led the league in goals and assists in the 2020-21 season with 23 goals and 14 assists, but Tottenham didn’t get much out of it. As a result, Kane asked for a move away from the club to further his career. Man City expressed interest, but Tottenham maintained a no-sell stance, and Kane stayed. 오래된 토토사이트
Kane is contracted to Tottenham until the summer of 2024. He has one year left on his contract, but there hasn’t been any news of a renewal. This makes a move this summer very likely. Already since the end of the season, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain (
