Hong Chang-ki said after hitting the game-winning hit to lead the LG Twins to victory.
LG won the away game against the NC Dinos of the 2023 KBO Baseball League at Changwon NC Park on Nov. 21, 9-3, in a hard-fought game that went into the 10th inning. The victory,
which avenged a 4-8 loss the previous day (Oct. 20), improved LG’s record to 40 wins (2 ties, 25 losses).
The first baseman and right fielder was a standout performer for LG, going 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, one walk, and one run scored, including a game-winning double in the top of the 10th inning.

After taking a breather with a grounder to first base in the top of the third inning, Hong Chang-ki came back to bat in the top of the fourth inning when LG trailed 1-3. After drawing a walk in the top of the eighth inning, Hong’s best moment came in the top of the 10th inning when the teams were tied 3-3. With runners on second and third after a walk by Kim Min-sung, a single by Park Hae-min and a sacrifice bunt by Shin Min-jae, Hong lined a four-pitch 143-kilometer fastball to center field off NC right-hander Volunteer Jeon Jae-min.
With the momentum in their favor, LG scored a total of six runs in the inning and were able to hold on for the win. It was a valuable result that ended their four-game losing streak against NC.메이저도메인
After the game, Hong Chang-ki said, “We were on a losing streak in the NC, and it feels good to break it with a win today.”
He continued, “I was trying my best to deliver results when (the game-winning hit) came. Fortunately, we were able to get a good result today and help the team win,” he added.
LG, which is in a tight race at the top of the standings, has 40 wins, two draws and 25 losses with the win, keeping the gap between them and first-place SSG Landers at 0.5 games.
